What we did
The Brief
Cognosis are a London-based strategy consultancy. They work with multiple large brands and businesses in a variety of sectors. Having completed noteworthy results for their clients, they wanted to create a series of testimonial videos to showcase their work and add an authentic glimpse into the results and their way of working with their customers. They needed a video production company to take care of the process from end-to-end. This included advising on questions used in interviews, right through to the on-site filming and beyond.
The Shoots
For each shoot, collaboration with our primary contact at Cognosis was essential beforehand. To facilitate this, we arranged pre-production discussions to outline the interview questions and establish expectations for the filming day. This preparation guaranteed seamless operations during the shoots.
The shoots with Cognosis consisted of a two-person team on site to capture two-camera interviews, allowing for plenty of room in post-production to remove the ‘um’s’ and any stutters. Following this, we capture the supporting footage. This includes establishing shots of the location, visuals of the key speaker within the location, working, interacting with colleagues, as well as other relevant footage.
The industry and topic of each video was different, and as such we always put a heavy focus on capturing enough footage for each video to set the scene of each customer and give the audience context of who the customer is, and what they do.
The Edits
Our aim with each edit was to fit as much of the gold from the interviews into a 60-120 second video. We collaborated with Cognosis to focus on which parts of the messaging were most important and then took that information and carefully curated an edit that flowed smoothly. To create a hook at the beginning of the videos, we presented first the biggest challenge that the client faced, and then proceeded to go into the solution that Cognosis Provided.
We used a variety of music styles throughout each project that we felt best suited each industry/theme. This would then dictate the edit pace and how we use our supporting footage. Where possible we would aim to use as much supporting footage as possible in order to keep the videos engaging.
We also created motion graphics assets for these videos. Including an animated logo sequence, as well as animated lower thirds. For this we used Cognosis’s brand guidelines for colour, icons and font. Having these assets means that we can ensure that all of the videos are uniform and recognisable.
The Result
The result from our collaboration with Cognosis is a series of impactful testimonial videos that Cognosis uses across their website, social media and within their sales process. Through this they’re able to further demonstrate their solution, increase their leads and brand awareness.
