The Brief
Thornton Hundred is a custom motorcycle workshop, specializing in Triumph Bobbers. Jody, the owner, realised there was a gap in the Youtube market for a big motorcycle workshop channel. So he started looking around for a videographer that would share his vision, and bring his idea to life. Step forward Menace Media.
Our Method
We spent a large part of the lockdown with Thornton Hundred. We got to know the style of content that Jody expected. We created 10 to 15 minute long videos, with a Vlog approach, mixed in with cinematic shots to give good balance. We also used our Astera tube lights to make the bikes glow, and to shine a light on the finer details of the builds. One project we were extremely proud of is the T1220 build for Joe Wicks. We documented every step of the process, from conception, to Joe’s reaction, and made a great video about it.
The Outcome
Thornton Hundred have exploded on YouTube, with their channel just shy of 100,000 subscribers, and their videos amassing over 6 million views. The content they now put out is some of the best in the bike world, with a huge growing fan base on social media. Jody has since expanded into a new custom built unit, employed a team of 6, and now has such a high demand for video content he’s hired his own videographer. Jody has since given us shout out, saying we were “Key” to getting the ball rolling. We thoroughly enjoyed working with Thornton Hundred, and hope it isn’t the last time we cross paths.
Davis Commercial Services
The Brief
DCS is a recycling plant for old refrigerators. They wanted a FPV Drone video to showcase their new warehouse facility, as it boasts a huge storage capacity, which they wanted to show to their clients. We knew we had to take health and safety measures as it is a warehouse with hazardous waste and large moving parts, but we were eager to get started.
Our Method
We arrived at the scene with Seb, our best drone pilot, and quickly set about scouting the area for different flight paths. Ell & Dennis were on the scene recording audio to be added in post production. We recorded 4 different flights, and was able to combine them together to keep it flowing.
The Outcome
The outcome was an informative “one take” style video, complete with smooth transitions, motion graphic labels and custom sound design. The motion graphics were completed in house by Ben, and were used to label different parts of the warehouse and explain their jobs. The video was used to show clients the ins and outs of DCS.
CI Group
The Brief
CI Group are a collection of agencies that deal with a range of different companies in the digital sector. They were looking for a production partner that could set up and run different types of events in their main office. They had a big space, but no equipment and no crew to run the events.
Our Method
We measured out the space, created some 3D models and made a shopping list of all the equipment we would need to make the studio a reality. After a solid week of graft, we had the 9m x 3m green screen studio ready to host virtual events. This was during the peak of Covid-19, meaning we had to cater for the lack of in-person events.
The Outcome
The end result is a green screen studio that can broadcast live to the internet, for hours on end with minimal staff presence. The studio has been used frequently to accommodate CI’s big clients, including Apple, adobe, Callsign, Camelot and HP. We are able to set up streams, then create 3D rendered stage designs, to make the events feel like they’re happening right in front of you. We’ve completed lots of work for CI group, and look forward to more exciting projects in the future.
